Nasir Mazhar
Milliner Nasir was born in east London; he is of Turkish Cypriot origin. He is best recognized for his inventive approaches to sports caps and head wear, Lady Gaga has worn a few of Nasir Mazhar's hats. He created the hats for the 2012 summer Olympic opening ceremony (the clubbing scene), and launched his first full clothing for men and women in his 2013 collection at London Fashion Week 2012. Mazhar simply sets out with the curiosity of finding an alternative to the existing format of hats. Reflecting his background in theatrical hat making, his designs have drawn upon influences as eclectic as Hip Hop, fetish, the animal kingdom, cartoon, the Far East, Mythology, Sport and Religion, all of which are given a twist of street culture and hyperbole to create fantastical collections of hats. Nazir's favorite collection to date is his SS14 menswear collection, as it’s completely unisex and he's had positive feedback from his female friends who fell in love with the collection. He showcased UK grime artist as models walked around on a set to showcase his designs at LFW 2012. He is back this year on Monday 16th September 2013 at 13:00 in the Topshop show space. I am excited to see what he's got planned for this years show.

DXPE CHEF: The dawn of a new age
Dope Chef as you know it has been deceased. The brand is heading in a new direction with elements of high fashion . They have gone from a colorful college boy look, to a simple, sleek and mature image. They have cleverly put both of the most popular colours together with a baseball influenced trend, building a collection of about 35 pieces. Images have been revealed on their official site, the photo shoot was well put together and consist of black and white, shades of grey and no other colour. The outfits that stood out for me was the wool felt piped umpire blazer, Egyptian cotton tuxedo shirt and tailored baseball trousers. I also liked the mesh vapor baseball jersey & shorts, Egyptian cotton shirt & cashmere gloves. Using the carbon baseball bat and fiber glass helmet as props added value and quality to the shoot.
